When you think about church, it is easy to focus on the worship service.
While a church service is usually the first experience people have with a
church, at Faith First we hope you will become involved in many of the
different ministries available.
Small Groups
By joining a Faith Community small group, getting to know folks with similar interests, involving your kids or teens in activities, or volunteering to serve alongside others, you will experience the real benefits of belonging. Our hope is that you and your family will plug into a Faith First Small Group. It is about making your life meaningful and fulfilling the purposes for which God created you.
Small Groups - Small groups are where you belong — a small gathering of people who have a desire to see you improve and succeed in life. In a small group, you will come together with others to become people of influence. You will learn about practical Christian living through discussing the truths of the Bible and building friendships with one another.
Why Small Groups? As Faith First Community Church continues to reach the Oakleaf area, we must grow larger and smaller at the same time. Connecting people in a small group is not an optional sub-ministry of the church. It is the church in her smallest form. We are called to live the Christian life with the support of others. Partners' helping one another is Christ's plan for His church.
Are Small Groups Biblical? In the book of Acts, Luke records the tremendous growth of the first church in Jerusalem. Small group meetings in homes were the foundation of the early church. Acts 5:42 tells us that the people met "in the temple courts" (large group worship) and "from house to house" (small group fellowship). Jesus did much of his ministry in homes and early Christians continued to meet in homes for fellowship, study and discipleship.
Our current small groups occur on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday.

Prayer Ministry
Prayer
is something that everyone can do and is commanded to do. James 5:16 states that the Ernest prayer of a
righteous person has great power and wonderful results. If we truly want to
honor our Lord and Savior, we must be a praying Church.
The
prayer ministry has one mission: To bring emphasis to prayer, both
individually and as the body of Christ. Prayer is the life blood of the Church.
What a wonderful privilege we have to communicate with the Creator. To share our
concerns and blessings and see Him at work!
Heartland Nursing Home
Faith First Church visits
Heartland Nursing Home every other Wednesday and Sunday. Volunteers who minister
at these locations conduct worship services on Sunday evenings along with Bible
studies on Wednesdays. The greatest blessings from this ministry come in two
ways: (1) spending quality time with the residents and their families, and (2)
giving to them, in the name of Jesus Christ, the attention and love they so
rightly deserve.
Youth and Children Ministries
Our Children and Youth Ministry is growing and
you can sense the excitement! We want our youth to experience God's love and
grace and to develop their relationships with other believers as they interact
with God, serve those in need and expand their faith in Christ. We journey
together in Finding Life in God’s Holy Truth found in John 5:24. “I tell you
the truth, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life
and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life."
We believe that the youth and children’s ministry is a family ministry. Needs
are met with the joint efforts of the children, their parents, adult youth
leaders, and our pastor. Through week-by-week ministry programs, as well as
special activities and events, we hope to challenge and grow our youth in their
faith.
Our youth participate in the summer vacation
bible school (VBS), several local field trips, retreats and activities are also
scheduled, throughout the year. Our youth are actively involved in Christian
Camps and we have Children's Choir practice on Wednesday evening.
At Faith First Community Church
we love our children and are devoted to their
spiritual growth and relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ!
Mission "IMPACT"
We believe the church has a special
obligation to minister to people who are part of the body. However, that does
not exclude those outside the body. Meeting the needs of the community around us
is a way of drawing people to God by the physical expression of Christian love.
“Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for by this some have
entertained angels without knowing it.” Hebrews 13:2
Our purpose is to worship
the Lord Jesus Christ and that kind of love can take on many forms. One
important way is through service. We believe to be used of God is to be
available as His hands and feet. MISSION IMPACT is just one way Faith First
Community Church can give back to Him, provide for the needs of His people and
let His glory shine.
Join us as
we hit the streets helping families in need. Service opportunities could consist
of home and lawn repair, cleaning, painting, food and clothing distribution,
praise and worship and sharing the message of Jesus Christ!
